I've tried Brite, Shelly and Ganesha so far. A lot of people on this
site will tell you that mixing your own will get you a superior
stain, and they're not wrong, but I for one will always use both,
depending on time, place, etc.
The best I've found so far has to by far be the Ganesha (although
some will disagree). For me it has come as a lovely green paste,
takes really well, and also doesn't flake off at the drop of a hat!
Some will disagree with me about Ganesha as I have heard from Mark of
tales of it being worse than useless, but I'd recommend buying from
Baron at Pirate's Hoard. We've had this how-good-is-ganesha
conversation so he's probably the best! I can't remember the link off
the top of my head, but it's on this site. Don't know if you're new -
I don't recognise the name, but sorry if you're not and I'm being
stupid!! But check out this site for the best ways to apply too. The
nozzles usually supplied with pastes are *way* inferior to the
methods we use for applying powder mixes. My personal favourite is an
icing bag, but see what's best for you. Good luck!
BimboGeri xx
