My convenience circumvents the FDA...henna surprisesPosted by Kenzi on August 30, 2001 at 23:24:38: Another shipment of henna just arrived and to save space in packingthe sealed bags of henna were removed from their boxes. This was the first time the henna arrived like this and it works out perfectly because the boxes are strewn with pictures of hennaed hands, bowls of henna paste, and syringes, and not a russet lock of hair anywhere. Lots of odd red flags that might have caught the attention of the FDA. Now my henna really looks like it's just for hair! My hubby also brought back a box of Moroccan henna that is just for hair. The picture on the box shows a woman with long, beautiful hair and then a platter of different herbs and flowers which I assume are in the mix. The henna itself smells different from the other henna that is for body art (shh!). I haven't opened the package yet to see what kinds of stuff are in the mix. He also brought me back some wedding favors from a friend's wedding in Morocco. They are little lace and fabric pouches of dried henna leaves (like you might see at an American wedding but filled with jordan almonds or rice or bird seed). The leaves smell so different from the ground henna, which I didn't expect at all. Back to unpacking!
