This is just to let you know my experiences with the terped
henna...Hopefully (maybe) it will be of some use to you. I've been
using terped paste with pretty good color on my dark hued skin. I
recently tried Jamila instead of Castle Art henna and I found I had a
problem with it too. I had to experiment for what worked with the
Jamila. What happened to me is, after I mixed it, if I left it out
in just a J-bottle with my tip on -it lost all it's power to stain
decently. I mix my Jamila henna with lime juice and a bit of sugar,
leave it out overnight. In the morning I've mixed Tea Tree oil into
it to the consistency I want and I put it in an air-tight Tupperware
container. After about 8 hours, I transfer it to a ziploc bag (which
I use to fill my J-bottles. If my bottle is not going to be capped,
I put it in a ziploc or I use it immediately. I also refrigerate my
paste if I'm not using it within the next 8 hours. I generally leave
the paste on 30 minutes to an hour and my stains have been coming out
a light orange when the paste is removed and darkening to between a
dark brown to a deep cherry (almost black). Hope this helps
you!..it's just my experience. ~Angie
