Maybe you need to simplify the recipe to see where things might be
going wrong. Try using only cajeput EO and not cardomon. I am
getting amazing results with the exact same cajeput you are using. I
am leaving the paste on for 2-4 hours and getting much better color
than non-terped paste.

The other thing that jumped out at me was the time between when you
added the EOs and the time you used the paste. I usually just add
the EOs an hour or two before using the paste. The following day,
using the same paste, I add some more EO to kind of give the paste a
kick start.

I also agree with Nick about testing your paste before you add the
EOs. You might need to wait a little longer, esp. with Jamila,
before using it, terped or not.
