Erfan, thank you so much for telling us all about your trip to Iran.
It is so fascinating to me since I have never been there and
especially so because of all the information about henna.

I always assumed that henna was still used in Iran but I was
surprised to hear so many people didn't know what it was! I agree
with you that it is a shame that it has to become a trend in America
and Europe for them to take it seriously again. It reminds me of
Indian bridal magazines that I see that show women with henna, but it
is usually not at all traditional but tribal arm bands, or purple
colored body paint. The same thing is happening in Morocco (tho not
with henna, that "trend" never died out there) with handicrafts.
There used to be gorgeous textiles made in Morocco but now they don't
make that stuff anymore, they just make boring stuff that they think
the tourists will like. But people are starting to askfor the
traditional stuff instead so they are making better textiles.

I am really looking forward to your book and all your designs. Keep
up the wonderful work!
