I've really no idea about congressmen and whatnot. : A plea from the politically challenged. FDA and congressmen should be your primary contacts. Your congressmen are listed at a link off the FDA rant, as are the FDA contacts. You have a two state senators and ssome state representatives. You also have a state government, and you may want to talk to them too. The local government might be worth a letter too, if they're feeling huffy about henna, or have a large ethnic population. Do you have a civics teacher at your High School? They're supposed to be good at that drill .... and encourage students to participate in the political system. Writing to officials is an excellent thing to do ... write once about one issue, and getting involved in issues later in your life will be less daunting. Its a democracy sort of thingie, and it would work better if people played the game more. (interesting concept: we could play the politicians instead of letting them play us.) You're not voting age yet, but if you called up your local favorite political party, they'd likely talk to you and tell you who your representatives are and how to write to them. Its off season. League of Women Voters is always a good contact. They're often stocked with fiesty old ladies who like to harass the system. Do a search on "League of Women Voters" and you'll turn up the website of your local chapter! You can write to the FDA. The address and instructions are at: http://www.fda.gov/opacom/backgrounders/voice.html You can send your E-Comments Directly to the FDA! You can submit your comments through the FDAWebsite on many of FDA's proposed regulations at: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/oc/dockets/commentdocket.cfm
