Some people just don't get it

This weekend I offered henna with my other body art for the first
time. Did a few, had fun and, to my surprise, quite an audience.

There was on girl who just didn't get it though. She wanted to have
an henna design done but wanted it in black. I let her know that henna
doesn't come in colors, it is basicly brown. I was afraid she might
find a 'black henna' person someday and didn't want her to make an
awful mistake so I told her about the dangers of so called black
henna. After I exlpained this she did a polite "uh-hun" and pointed to
a star design and said she really would like to have it in black. I
told her "I can do it with face paint or gel pens in black, but not
henna. The black stuff is dangerous!!" Once again I got 'uh-hun.' And
once again she told me she would like it in the black henna. I was
about to look in her ear and see if I could see out the other side.
One last time I told her how dangerous it is and told her I won't
touch the stuff. Just in case that didn't get through I stated what
should have been obvious-I don't have any!!!

Finally she said "ok, ok I'll just have the brown stuff." I was
tempted to ask her to leave, but wasn't sure she would catch on.

One really neat thing came of the day, several people who had henna
done elsewhere let me know my work was much better than stuff they had
done before. Thank you Catherine, most of them chose designs from your
section in my idea book. One woman liked them so much she even ask for
your web site!
