: Hi, I just read your history of henna and thought it was very
: facinating. I was most interested in the henna of 900-1550AD in
: Persia and Turkey. Do you have any pictures of patterns from that
: period? What books did you find them in? I would love any info.;
: you've always been so helpful! Thanks, Larissa.

I wish I had a useable short answer for you ....
Go to a research library, go through EVERY book you can that has pix
of medieval manuscripts from the middle east ... bring 2 pairs of
glasses and a magnifying glass ... and you'll find the stuff!

When I get that part of the encyclopedia of henna written, it will
include all that I've found. I spent many hours at the Bodleian
Library in May copying out the hennaes on medieval Persian Miniatures.
I hope to spend my next 25 summers doing more of the same!

I DO have a few medieval pieces copied or at least interpreted at
http://reverndbunny.sphosting.com/reverndbunny_sphosting_com.html ,
particularly http://reverndbunny.sphosting.com/opener.htm
Beyond that .... there are several authentic medieval pieces included
in the Pattern Book #1 at the link below.
