I think we in middle class America take too much for granted. As a
young woman I worked with a Russian Jew. His family can here to escape
persicution in Russia. Once I made a less than complimentary comment
about the government and recieved a 15 minute lecture on why I should
be very thankful to have that government.
Every day I see ads asking me to send "a few pennies a day" to help a
child in a third world county. Do you know how many children go to
sleep hungry, often without a home, each night in America? I worked
for 4 years at a low income housing/homeless shelter in Madisom, WI.To
see children in that situation broke my heart.
We need to look around us and see what we can do and do it.
Voluntering with non-profit groups means they have more money to spend
on the problem. Voting for candidates that want to help and proposals
that will help is one of the easiest ways we can help.

Ok, I am rambling on, but Erfan is right, We need to help each other
on a daily basis. This way we can over come fear with understanding.
