You may not be able to do anything directly to help the victims but remember, there are people suffering all the time all over the world and they need help. If you help out somewhere by offering your time and energy, someone will benefit. Another thing you can do is talk to people about what you are going through. I have been spending a lot of time with family and friends and it has helped immeasurably. I have also found that taking a break from the TV is a wonderful thing; the images are so potent and they conjure up terrible thoughts. If you find it difficult to break that habit, try at least to give yourself a break right before you go to bed, allowing your mind to clear of these images so you can sleep peacefully and begin to heal.
