: WEll ... if we go on through with the NYC Sirius Henna Conference,
: shall I teach a rangoli class? Rangoli has some interesting
parallels
: in pattern and behaviour to henna. We can do as big a one as you
: can find space for! Little personal ones are fun ... but a huge
one
: really bends your mind and body. Doing a large one is a very
: profound act of discipline and devotion (my backside says so, after
: squatting up and down for 8 hours!)

That would be GREAT! I would love to see if we could do it on a
playground at a school in NYC, maybe even one downtown near the WTC,
if we want to make a ritual/tribute out of it. It would be great to
get kids involved in it but if that's not possible, it would be fun
to just do with the henna crowd.

My body is just getting over an act that had nothing to do with
discipline and devotion: on Wednesday night I was at work and we were
evacuated because someone called in a bomb threat. I had to run
down 44 flights of stairs, with the images of the day before flooding
my mind. It would have been worse to run UP 44 flights of stairs,
but still, going down was very difficult after about 25 floors. I
was in serious pain for three days afterwards! I would welcome the
pain of creating a huge rangoli.
