Gosh, don't harm yourself to be beautiful! That went out with the
Victorians. I think it's fine to use stencils, if they will work for
you. I've never had good luck with them. I look down on people
charging the same rates as I do for my original art as for slapping
down the same premade design on everyone, but whatever you do on your
own is fine. I think it's brave to keep looking for creative ways to
get around obstacles. I hope your med outlook improves! Best of
luck.

: Hej everyone,
:
: As I've mentioned before, I have repetitive stress disorder in both
: arms/hands/shoulders which really interfers with my life. As the
: emoticon goes, :-(.
:
: Recently, I've had to reduce the amount of meds I'm taking because
: the side effects were getting bad (nightly nightmares,
: hallucinations, etc.). As a result, my pain threshold his way down
: there, and even using a cone is causing a lot of pain. Other
things
: are causing a lot of pain also, so using my arms, especially my
: dominant arm, is not the best thing to do. I will go see my doctor
: next month and will discuss this with him, but until I get medical
: insurance that covers meds (my current insurance doesn't), I don't
: think there's much we can do. I'm trying to do yoga in the morning
: (I wish there was a school of yoga that incorporated interested
cats
: in it), will be using dictation software for school work and am
: saving up for some acupuncture (also not coverend by my insurance),
: but don't want to give up on hennaed hands altogether.
:
: So . . . I know the majority of people here are pro-freehand, and I
: prefer that method - it's more traditional, and the designs you can
: do are more intricate and traditional that what stencils offer -
but
: do you think I would be Americanizing henna if I used the stencils
on
: myself, at least until better meds are available? By Americanizing
I
: mean making it quick and not as traditional as it could be.
:
: Comments? Questions?j
:
: Thanks much,
:
: Anne, who's happy because it looks like anti-Muslum/Arab crimes in
CT
: are going to be prosecuted as hate crimes
