I suspect the significant molecule is larger after terping, and thus needs extra heat to penetrate. That would also account for the shallower depth in penetration. I didn't wrap, in a 68F house, and got good, but not spectacular results. For yanks, looks like a light wrap or steam in winter will keep the terps in summertime glory. One wrap that peaked a terp was a quick NS and a food service glove (taken on and off as needed). Those food service gloves are great! Their pores keep perspiration from puddling, but keep the hand moist and warm. Pull them on and off to keep your hand warm as you need.
