advice on hair henna

I have light - medium brown hair. I want to henna my hair a dark
brown or a dark reddish brown. I am looking at a Rainbow henna
brochure that has a list of hennas and what affect they'll have on
certain shades of hair. Where light brown hair and Persian Dark Brown
henna meet, there is a dash (--). I assume this means you should not
color your hair Persian dark brown if you have light brown hair.
Here's my question, finally:
Does anyone know what will happen if I henna my hair a dark brown?
Will it be somewhere in between the two shades or will it not work at
all? Thanks for your help
