I get some green effect with the terps now, at the last stage, and
the ammonia trick henna goes greenish in late stages.

When I get out 3 magnifying lenses and stack them up to look at it
cell by cell ... it appears that the green is actually the last layers
of near black dyed cells loosening up and getting air under them. The
translucence of the yellowish keratin and the black dye gives a green
cast at visible level. I've got some green happening at the base of my
hand today, but when I magnify it enough, I don't see green at all.

My first thought was that this is one of the vegetal dyes that is red
at the acid end of the spectrum and green at the base end (like the
red cabbage trick with vinegar) but I'm not sure that's the case here.
