There is no substitute for trial and error, an entire batch of henna can go 'fut' with no significant change in the colour of the powder. Find yourself a good honest supplier, test each batch you receive and don't keep it hanging about too long. Store your henna carefully in the fridge or freezer in a light tight container or bag and always test your paste before applying henna to somebody for cash.
