My parents are UU, in the SF Bay Area, and it's a nice group of
folks. I know that their congregation has lots of different
people...pagan, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Agnostic, "lapsed Catholic"
like my dad, "lapsed Protestant"/Deist like my mom...why not
incorporate symbology from whatever your family background is (or
what you claim from it) and the UU symbol of the chalice and the
flame?
When I was a kid in UU they had an Ankh, but my parents moved to a
more conservative church for a while and I don't know when they
changed it. Their church uses a lot of tree imagery, the chalice
with the flame above it, and yes, sometimes even a pentacle!
And why not henna him while you're at it, in recognition of his
special day? Obviously I don't know what your brother likes, but a
symbol on its own in the palm of the hand would be a nice way for him
to carry the energy of the day...and you could even do it after the
event.
Good luck!

: Ok, so my brother's getting ordained next weekend. He's a
Unitarian
: Universalist minister. (The UUs are very intellectual, free
folks.
: My brother doesn't even believe in G/god, and I'm a pagan, but
there
: are also some very liberal christians, secular humanists, and
: agnostics in the UU church.) He wants to see a henna design on me,
: and so I want to think of something appropriate. Any body got any
: ideas?
:
: BTW, if you are unfamiliar with the UU church, the link is below
:
: Thanks
