Sometimes it's prejudice, sometimes bigotry, sometimes it's just personal. How to understand ....? Lets say you're living in .... Tuva (west of China) .... and your family comes over for Christmas. You find, to your suprise, that someone in Tuva is fascinated with Christmas trees, lights, wrapping packages, carolling .. the lot. They can deck out your house and provide everything necessary for a big Christmas party. Your aunts Doris, Thelma, Mabel and Margueritte think Tuva is the last place god made, and are deeply suspicious of Tuva and everything in it. They put MAJOR pressure on you to NOT hire this person, and spend every minute criticizing the job, and reminding the Christmas specialist that they could have done just as well for free. That's about normal. Prejudice is prejudice. Can women play basketball? Can men take loving care of babies? Can a pretty blonde think? Do the Swiss have a monster truck rally with Country-Western music? Yup!
