the demon bridePosted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on October 25, 2001 at 18:34:07: In reply to: Thank you! posted by Jewel on October 25, 2001 at 14:34:52: Part of the difficulty is the dynamic of the bridal situation. When one goes to a beauty parlor, they're wanting to be groomed, pampered, cheered up and the more they pay for cheering up, the happier they are. They go of their own volition, and they've made a conscious decision to do a physical act to improve themselves (at least by their own definition for the moment). Bridal circumstance is entirely different. The girls are usually miserably stressed out, been holding back anger with their mothers and betrothed, (if not openly screaming at them and throwing dishes about), very fearful angry, disappointed, and apprehensive. So .... they take it out on ANYONE they can! If a person comes into that "personal space" as is necessary in hennaeing .... that person is apt to get slopped with all sorts of emotions deemed inappropriate to express .... but which are felt! You'll hear this from florists, caterers, dressmakers ... all the professionals that surround weddings. You just plain get used to the bitching and whining ... and figure better YOU than spouse or family who'd be apt to hold a grudge. Calm, serene bride? Only because she's left a smoking trail of burnt out wedding professionals in her wake! Ask me why I don't do wedding gowns for money anymore! In any case ... PLEASE ... tell me ALL the stories! I can hardly wait!
