I think your work is so awesome! I have some questions,: tho... do the women where you live henna their nails regularly or is : it just something associated with bridal henna? Do the brides : continue hennaing their nails after the wedding is over, or do they : let the hennnaed part grow out and cover it w/ polish? Thank you so much, you're very kind!! :):) I know of ladies (some of them my own aunts) who henna their nails regularly, and I mean they'd do it like every other day. Their nails are the deepest darkest shade of red you've ever seen. But these ladies are much older, maybe in the age group between 50 to as old as one can be. When I was walking around in Little India, I noticed the same thing with the older Indian ladies. Although hennaed nails are more associated with brides (that's how you know someone just got married!), many women henna their nails like you would apply nail polish. For a year (or longer) I've had hennaed nails and many thought I just got married (or about to) :). Younger women are not interested to have henna on their nails. So far I've never heard of brides continuing to henna their nails as they grow out. I've seen the crescent moon henna stains on their nails. Most Muslim would not polish their nails because of ablution and prayers. Hope this answers your questions. Love & peace, ~Jewel~
