hennaed skin at funnerals

I had to go to a funneral this morning. The deceased was a Syrian
born Catholic and there were people of many ethnic backgrounds
there. I felt sort of uncomfortable sporting my henned hands and
feet so I covered them with gloves and closed shoes despite the fact
that is was VERY hot, so nobody would notice. Is henna appropriate
at funnerals?

All of you that have snow should come here to Phoenix to thaw out and
do some henna, it was 101 degrees today!
