Not bad, just different.Posted by Lauren on October 31, 2001 at 00:50:49: In reply to: want good henna to dye red posted by rhiannon on October 30, 2001 at 21:27:24: Henna that is right off the bush after the rainy season is Crayolared. Harvested at any other time, or dried and packaged, most hennas range from reddish-brown to cherry-black, with most being in the orange-brown colors. There are exceptions- scroll down to some of Jewel's posts to see pics of her bright red Meccan henna, or look on CCJ's page for pics of Iranian. Your best bet when you must have Crayola red is Maureen's Kimia. This is the same stuff as in the picture on CCJ's site. It is NOT cheap, but I know about what she paid for it, and given that, her prices are fair, and it will give you the color you're dreaming of. If you are willing to compromise a bit, both Maureen and I will soon be offering Sharkiyya powder, which is redder than any I've tried before. It's not the SPIFF bridal red of Kimia but it will be less expensive and likely redder tha what you're using now. More on this as it happens. Lauren : I am looking for some henna that will give me a good red dye. All of : the henna that I have bought in the past seem to give me a dark brown : color. (YUCK!!!)
