Most glycerine I have found is plant based-I make some of those soaps
you mentioned. A word of caution working with glycerine, or maybe an
advantage-Glycerine doesn't dry for a vary long time-like days or
weeks. Your paste will stay wet a lot longer.

: I can't remember who it was, but someone mentioned that glycerin
: added to henna makes it stringier, and i know glycerin is safe
