My wretched experience with a premixed

My best friend is leaving town for good in about a week, so I went
over to see her yesterday to say goodbye. She called me just before
I left to ask if I could henna her, now that she doesn't have to
worry about the people at work (her last day was friday).

Of course, she asks me this at a time when I don't have any made up!
So off I go to the Indo-Pak Spices, and get some RaniKone. I sniffed
at it on the way to her house, and pee-yew. So when we got there, I
just added some tea tree and yummy-stinky oils, and enough henna
powder to get it back to a decent consistency. I did a single strain
with Kenzi's method, and got to work with a j-bottle (she didn't have
any tape, so I couldn't make a cone.)

That was the nastiest stuff I've ever seen. First of all, it came
out of the tubes stinking and TAN in color. And even after straining
it twice, it was clogging up my tip constantly. I've been pretty
much a cone convert for a while now, so my hand is aching like crazy
this morning. And the color is pretty lame. No red tones, just a
really yucky brown.

The moral of this story: since I have no problem keeping my own
paste good in the fridge for 5-7 days (If I use Kenzi's or Castle
Art), I think I'll always keep a small amount in a cone in the fridge
from now on!
