Hej,

I did some henna on my Mom one weekend and she had some bad
repercussion from it at work. She is a theraputic recreation
director at a nursing home and her supervisor told her it was
inappropriate to have the henna on her hands. However, many of the
aids and support staff at the nursing home have tattoos and
piercings, which are alright, I guess. On the other hand, she is
doing a whole day of body art (face paint, mainly) for the residents
next month. I'm lending her some bindis for that.

I work in a school, so I usually have to hide my henna under a wrist
brace or dark stockings or something like that. The kids love it - I
did a little demo for some 4th graders studying India - but the staff
and administration weren't quite so pleased. C'est la vie.
