CUTCH EXTRACT an extract prepared from wood of the tree Acacia
Catechu. It is a
good source of colorfast browns such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and
clove. Cutch contains
tannin as well as dye compound and is easily soluble in water.

That's the one on the list that has potential...but I did try it
myself and got nothing useful from it. Indigo might be useful under
some conditions, but it's an awful stenchy mess to use. None of
those others bind with collagens worth a durn...and no, they're not
necessarilly safe for you. Natural does not mean safe. If you want
work with a natural, organic plant material and see if all natural
things are perfectly safe, I have a poison ivy bush in my back yard
that would love to have you visit it........ there's a whole lot of
nightshade berries waiting for you too......
