Whan you say that you got nothing useful from it, do you mean it
didnt stain? Also what is tannin, I heard it mentioned before?

thanks

: CUTCH EXTRACT an extract prepared from wood of the tree Acacia
: Catechu. It is a
: good source of colorfast browns such as cinnamon, nutmeg,
and
: clove. Cutch contains
: tannin as well as dye compound and is easily soluble in
water.

: That's the one on the list that has potential...but I did try it
: myself and got nothing useful from it. Indigo might be useful
under
: some conditions, but it's an awful stenchy mess to use. None of
: those others bind with collagens worth a durn...and no, they're not
: necessarilly safe for you. Natural does not mean safe. If you
want
: work with a natural, organic plant material and see if all natural
: things are perfectly safe, I have a poison ivy bush in my back yard
: that would love to have you visit it........ there's a whole lot of
: nightshade berries waiting for you too......
