Don't know if this is the case everywhere, but I've had great success
both in the US and the UK buying foreign dollars travellers cheques.
In the US, the most reliable source for these has been our local AAA
office (and yes, membership is required for this service). In the UK,
we could buy foreign dollars travellers cheques at the Post Office,
the bank and any travel agent.
