And I thought the Gen-Xers were all younger than me!!! I wasn't even sure my generation ahd a name! Thanks! Anyways, I digress. I became interested in henna as I became aware of all things middle eastern via a bellydance class. I was intrigued by the social bonding of the customs and the beauty of the designs and the impermanence. I've also used henna on my hair for decades and never knew it had other uses, so I was instantly hooked and ready to try this incredible art form. Now several years later, I'm still hooked -- even more so by the depth of history, patterns and cultures. Like Anne, in the message further up the list, I henna people of all ages -- little kids, teens, college-age trendies, college-age alternative folks, 30=somethings looking for something meaningful and temporary, older women who want a pampering experience and a pretty design, men who've never done anything alternative before, people with cancer who want a lift, dancers who want something "tribal"...in short, all types. I expect I could spend my whole life learning about henna, its uses, its meanings to people...
