I think it's the acids (and the dyes are acidic) that cause the
problem. Do the refined oils have no acids?

My husband's mouth gets itchy with almonds, peaches, and aprricots
(all related) but almond oil or cooked or roasted products give him
less bother.

Clueless about chemistry here.....
