In Morocco, hennaing the mother-to-be in the 7th month is
traditional. She will usually have her hands and feet done with
designs like a bride.

I am still trying to learn why this is done. I would assume a lot of
it has to do with protecting the mother-to-be in the following
months, but also cheering up the woman who maybe is now waddling
around and feeling like crap. She gets to lie down, put her feet up,
have her friends over, get pampered and waited on and then hennaed.
The ultimate destresser!
