: Mahlabyia is an oil that might or might not darken henna because of
: the polar solvent characteristic of some of it's consituents. These
: can include eucalyptus, lamp oil, turpentine .... it's different
with
: every source. The brands I've tried do NOT darken my henna, but
they
: do give me blistered skin.

: from your face and eyes.

You need to know what quality of oil you have really....we got some
from india few weeks back. We got 4 types ranging from the nearly
crude (contains petrol i think) to the good stuff which is just a
blend of natural oils with a perfume added to make it smell like it
does.

I think it goes without saying though...never put anything near your
eyes or on your face its just asking for trouble. If you must henna
on your face then wash and exfoliate and then just henna.

Mehalabiya oil is never to be trusted. Buy yourself from a reliable
source if this is your frav oil.

We got the crude cheap stuff just for comparison we never actually
use it on anyone!

We was told that the pure mehalabiya oil was:

pine, eucalyptus, camphor and frankinsence. And then a perfume
(undisclosed) was added to make the overall smell. I believe that the
perfume is probably mixed with isopropyl alcohol which is used in
cosmetics and aftershave etc.
