: Does anyone know what it is that makes the Mehndi Mud so fast
: staining? What's in this stuff??

That its fast staining doesnt mean that something else has to be in
it. It can be just down to the crop that it is produced from.

For example i have three henna's in my cupboard.

1. Sudanese
2. Tunisian
3. Indian

Now if i mix the sudanese it is usable straight away and stains
quickly. The indian is usable after 1 hour and stains quickly and the
tunisian you can use after 6 hours and takes 48hours to develop but
it gets a greater depth of color than the sudanese.

Its all down to agriculture, what crop, strength of crop and such
like. With all this you dont really need to add anything else ;)
