Re-application?Posted by Anne Beltestad on May 25, 2001 at 18:05:46: Hey all,Maybe this has been discussed before, but does anyone know if there is an upper limit to re-apply henna and have it add to the stain? Sometimes if I don't want any new designs I'll go over part or all of an old one, usually several days later. What happens when you do it the next day? How many times can you re-apply and get darker...how dark can you get? I know that in some henna-using cultures they reapply over several days. This was what I did when I first started, and it was a pain in the you-know-what, but I'm just curious... The celtic/norse/south pacific - looking design on my palm that I wrapped several days ago using Kenzi's awesome cotton felt tape is an incredible black cherry. Last night I did a foot based on a Catherine design (something from Cairo as I recall) and went over the center of my palm a little. The color looks deeper after leaving it on overnight...that is, in those always-wrinkling lines in my palm and the invariably mottled parts on the fingertips whenever I "fill in". But I can't help but wonder, what if? How dark could it get? Right now I love the color...anyone out there played with reapplication?
