What a blast!! I am sooo tired....my legs ache, but it's a good
tired...we had a great time and I met so many great people!
Mornings started slow but by 2 pm I was hennaing away...straight thru
until around 7 p.m.
I did a bunch of simple designs and then a rush of difficult ones...I
truly hate doing wrist bands...how the hell do you keep them in
perspective and going evenly. I have such a hard time with them.
Any tips???
I also met an Indian women who did henna body art (she was in the
booth right next to me!! Talk about bad planning for a festival!
It was ok though..she wasn't set up very well and only did like 3
people today while I had a line at my booth.
She saw the henna on my hand and complimented me on how good it
was...that was nice to hear from someone who also practices.
She came over today and asked me about the jaq bottles I was
using..she absolutely loved them! and wanted to know where to get
them. She was also browsing through my books...I have traditional
and modern designs and she was thrilled to see so much. She wanted
to know where to get them too.
All in all it was an interesting weekend and tons of fun.
My husband will probably be leaving me by the end of the summer...he
doesn't like me being gone on the weekends and he doesn't seem to
understand why I came home with no money. (My mom and I are partners
in The Tulip Tree and right now all the money is going back into the
business for supplies and stuff...we are carrying jewelery, bindis,
natrual soap, flower art and mehndi)
Oh well, I'm not gonna quit hennaing and I'm not gonna quit the
festivals...I've invited him to come along and he chooses not to.
His loss.
Sorry...just had to rant a little.
P.S. I brought 5 henna kits and sold every one of them too!
