: What a blast!! I am sooo tired....my legs ache, but it's a good
: tired...we had a great time and I met so many great people!
: Mornings started slow but by 2 pm I was hennaing away...straight
thru
: until around 7 p.m.

---ain't that always the way!

: I did a bunch of simple designs and then a rush of difficult
ones...I
: truly hate doing wrist bands...how the hell do you keep them in
: perspective and going evenly. I have such a hard time with them.
: Any tips???

----I usually just use a washable henna-colored marker to make a few
dots around the wrist so everything lines up. the other problem with
wrist bracelets is that the skin moves a lot when the person turns
their wrist to help you out. Try to get them to turn their whole arm
over instead of twisting their wrist; that way, the skin will stay in
place and the henna along with it and everything will line up
afterwards.

: I also met an Indian women who did henna body art (she was in the
: booth right next to me!! Talk about bad planning for a festival!
: It was ok though..she wasn't set up very well and only did like 3
: people today while I had a line at my booth.
: She saw the henna on my hand and complimented me on how good it
: was...that was nice to hear from someone who also practices.
: She came over today and asked me about the jaq bottles I was
: using..she absolutely loved them! and wanted to know where to get
: them. She was also browsing through my books...I have traditional
: and modern designs and she was thrilled to see so much. She wanted
: to know where to get them too.

---That's great to hear that she was so interested in your work. My
one experience where I was one of several henna artists at a small
event was kind of bitter. One of the artists packed up and stormed
out and the old one lurked around my booth, giving me dirty looks,
bitching and trying to see if I was stealing business from her. She
would have done better to exert her complaints on the organizers and
not take it out on me, but what ya gonna do?

----Thanks for sharing you story with us. Good luck in fut
