Re: About.com story on Moroccan hennaPosted by niko txilar on June 6, 2001 at 18:47:13: In reply to: About.com story on Moroccan henna posted by Kenzi on June 6, 2001 at 04:14:50: I haven't read the link yet, but just wanted to comment that thehenna I got in Morocco gave me a strange reaction- it was in Marrakech, so it was very ~how do I put this~ hustler stlye, you know? Anyhow, I had the strangest reaction, my skin all around the henna turned reddish and it was stinging just a bit. I asked the girl what all was in it and she said only lemon juice, but I wasn't believing that. I know my skin! peace, txilar : Just saw this story posted at About.com. It is about the author's : henna experience in Morocco. Pretty basic stuff but nice photos of : the process. The strange part was she said she had an allergic : reaction, she thinks to the iodine they put in the henna. It sounds : like she assumed but didn't ask. Knowing henna in Morocco it was : probably something more nasty than iodine that was added to the : henna. She also wrongly assumed that they put the lemon-sugar on to : ease her allergic reaction. Fortifies my belief that she was making : a lot of assumptions. : : See the link below:
