I can vouch for that!Posted by Nick on June 12, 2001 at 19:38:07: In reply to: You want gooey? I got gooey! posted by Kenzi on June 12, 2001 at 16:17:28: The most recent harvest of Moroccan henna is Waaaay gooey! GREATstringy texture! There is a trick that i used once to make the henna extra stringy- add an egg white! It gives a really cool consistancy to the paste, and it also dries good and hard without much cracking. You would be astounded by the lines you are able to pull out, and i can even see how it would be possible to use the henna by dropping lines from the end of a skewer! The strings stay that intact! Some of the lines i was pulling out were *sooooo* fine, the only problem being that it took a very long time! ~Nick : It seems that rainy season harvests tend to be more gooey than other : harvests. I have found this to be true with my latest shipment of : henna from Morocco (harvested at the end of the rainy season). This : gooiness is great for pulling out long continuous lines (either : straight or curly) but it can be a teeny bit annoying when trying to : make a simple dot because you get a little Dairy Queen (tm) swirl on : each dot! : : I find adding sugar to the mix really helps the henna to dry without : cracking. : : Want some gooey, stringy henna?
