: I know that with aroma therapy you must dilute the EO's with a
: carrier oil, with henna is this necessary? Maybe only dilute when
: the oil is to be applied directly?

No carrier oil needed when using EO's in henna... the henna itself
dilutes the oil, so you are not applying it directly. As always, be
cautious when using EO's in the paste on other people, especially
ones with sensitivities and allergies (and pregnancy!). I like using
tea tree oil in my henna, despite the smell... many people are
familiar with it, and use it already (so they should be aware of any
problems they might have).

: Also, i found a web site that provides info on EO's is this what I
: need to look at to try out new oils? What is needed and what is
: counterproductive to henna?

Yes, the list of active constituents is what you are looking for. If
you scroll down through some of the terpinol discussions, you'll see
some references to other compounds that Catherine thinks may effect
henna... pinenes and limonenes, I think, and perhaps cineole? The
trick is to find oils with these elements, and assess their
effectiveness in darkening the henna first of all (and how different
brands compare!), their potential for reaction, their feasability
(i.e. expense vs. results!!!), etc.
