: To allay your nervousness, try to imagine why they called you.
They
: couldn't find anyone in their own culture to do it and they feel
: comfortable enough hiring someone from outside their culture. If
your
: skill level is important to them then they probably looked at
photos
: of your work on your site and found them acceptable. If they
didn't
: look at the photos that may mean that they have low expectations.
Who
: knows!

I left some flyers in the local indian-african-arabic clothing store
and she is friends with one of the salesladies. She liked the
moroccan design on the flyer, I am told. SHe said she had a design
she wanted, I think this is the groom's name written in the
language, but it may be a whole pattern she wants copied. At any
rate, I'm bringing my own design books.

: Also, they know that you are not Indian so I doubt that they expect
: you to follow their customs, let alone know about them.
Yes, but I want to. I will ask questions, but I'd like to be
prepared if walking clockwise around the bride will cause all her
children to be congenitally unable to say words ending in "w" or
something. I'm sure they'll tell me all about the customs, but it
would be nice to go in knowing something.

: When I did my first indian wedding there weren't a lot of
surprises.
: I did have to take my shoes off at the door...no big deal! I had
to
: henna everyone and her mother plus the bride.
Only the bride is to be done, which seems odd to me. Perhaps the
other people will do themselves.

Thanks!
