Hej Darlahood,

I got my start with "one of those kits" (well, more than one) from
the local Hot Topic - it was the only place which sold henna kits and
stencils and all. (I haven't seen henna in there for a *long* time,
but the local Sally Beauty Supply sells overpriced henna,
and "coloured" henna, kits.) They were very discouraging, and the
henna was of a questionable quality, but finding this page encouraged
me to continue. (It also encouraged me to go freehand rather than
rely on stencils; I'm nowhere near as good as most of the regulars,
but I'm getting there.)

As long as we're out there, sporting great henna and accurate
information, I think we'll hit another wave of trendiness, and from
that will come more people who will discover and appreciate the art.

Anne, who didn't find any SCAdians interested in henna today - they
just wanted to hit one another with sticks . . . ;-)
