: Hej Darlahood,
:
: I got my start with "one of those kits" (well, more than one) from
: the local Hot Topic - it was the only place which sold henna kits
and
: stencils and all. (I haven't seen henna in there for a *long*
time,
: but the local Sally Beauty Supply sells overpriced henna,
: and "coloured" henna, kits.) They were very discouraging, and the
: henna was of a questionable quality, but finding this page
encouraged
: me to continue. (It also encouraged me to go freehand rather than
: rely on stencils; I'm nowhere near as good as most of the regulars,
: but I'm getting there.)
:
: As long as we're out there, sporting great henna and accurate
: information, I think we'll hit another wave of trendiness, and from
: that will come more people who will discover and appreciate the art.
:
: Anne, who didn't find any SCAdians interested in henna today - they
: just wanted to hit one another with sticks . . . ;-)
Hello,

Just wanted to say that I too started my long and neverending (thank
goodness) journey into the wonderful world of Mehandi with a kit I
bought on the Internet. As complicated as the art is, I think a
beginner with a kit is always going to be disappointed. You know how
easy it looks by a master!!
