I did it that way too ... but move my left hand more confidently
after practising quite a bit. I must say CCJ's way worked pretty well
for a beginner :) ...

I find that it DOES have some advantages. Like if I'm stuck with a
part of the pattern that puts my right hand in an awkward position
that would totally ruin the whole pattern but my left hand has a
better advantage of not doing that, I'd use my left hand to finish it
off. It DOES get handy .... (and I get to impress the ladies
*chuckles*) ...
