: i am new at mehndi and i want to know how long henna mixture (or
: whatever the paste stuff is called)can be stored. does it get old
or
: spoil? and what is the best way to store the paste? i don't do it
: professionally, just for mine and my three daughters enjoyment.

As Sophie said, it depends on your paste. I can only give you my
point of view on this, and I haven't ever purchased pre-mixed paste.
When I mix a batch of paste, I tend to go overboard, so I usually
freeze half of what I make. I am not sure how long it lasts in the
freezer, but a couple of months seems reasonable.
With the fresh half that I don't freeze immediately, I will use it
for a day, popping it into the fridge when I am not using it. When I
know I won't be using it for a few days I will toss that in the
freezer too.
I think in the fridge there is a week to two weeks (again, depending
on the mix could even be more than 2 weeks).
Remember to keep your henna powder in the freezer, away from air,
light and heat, it seems to be the best place to store it.
Blessings,
Justine Willowhawk
