: Hello, I hope all are well. A few more questions that prolly are
: rather simple for ya all. First, exactly how much henna will I have
: (in paste form) if I buy 100 grams of henna powder, and is $9.00 US
a
: reasonable price for that amount?

That's not a bad price. You can find less expensive, and more
expensive. It's a middle price. If the henna is good quality and
fresh then it's just up to you if you want to stick with it or try
other brands.

:Secondly, what do you guys all call
: the art of henna, I work at the local Wal-Mart here in my little
cow
: town home and lots of people ask me about the designs on my hands,
it
: feels wrong to call it "henna tatoos" what do you all call it?

I call it Mehendi (spell it how you wish). When I say Mehendi...I
have to explain that it is the ancient art of henna staining. When
they ask if it's a temporary tattoo, I explain that it is not a
tattoo, it is ground henna leaves and liquid made into a paste which
when applied to skin leaves a stain that will fade away as the skin
exfoliates and regenerates.
And here's one of my pet peeves: When someone looks at it and says
either "oh, I have real tattoo's" or "is it real"...*&@^&*@#!!!
drives me nuts. I have taken to saying, "yes it is real...real
mehendi. It's not a tattoo, it is a stain." Just had this last
night again!

:Also I
: was thinking of just printing up a little card or something with
info
: about henna on it, to hand to people who are truely curious and so
I
: dont' have to explain myself every five minutes, when WalMart gets
: busy hearing the same question over and over brings on a case of
what
: CCJ calls the "Gryphs".

Sure, print up cards with some info, put a picture on it if you can
and your name and phone number so they can give you a call to try it
out. Unless that is conflicting w/ Wal-Mart's policies.

:One final question, do any of you have some
: pics on the web or something of designs for men? I have found a few
: boat-loads of designs for women, but not too many for men. My bf
and
: a guy friend of mine who I grew up with are both begging me to
henna
: them but I come up dry when considering a design for either of
them.
: Any help would be IMMENSELY appreciated!!
: Blessings,
: Sarah

There are pix on my site, not necessarily labeled for men or women
tho. My husband favors dragons, and my son favors anything I want to
do on him.
Get a copy of Catherine's book, or look to her page for the free
designs she has. Stuff like dragons, celtic knotwork, yin/yang and
various Moroccan (and other geometric patterns...from more regions
than I can remember at the moment) all work well with men.

Blessings,
Justine Willowhawk
