I have mostly gotten either very positive or very polite responses to
my henna. I'm sure that where I live has a lot to do with it. It's
very culturally mixed. Even if people didn't know what it was they
usually commented because they thought it was pretty. I guess those
that didn't like it just kept Their opinion to themselves.

I attended a big family wedding once right after I had worked a fair
and had a huge lacy design covering the back of my hand. My family
and the guests were mostly very traditional, conservative Christians.
I was prepared for some stares and negative comments.Surprise:
everyone thought it was beautiful!

Once at a fair while I was doing a design on a boy, this girl in his
group of friends kept saying really loudly; "THAT LOOKS LIKE F@#$#*?!
BIRD SH@!. After explaining the mud to her a couple of times and
still getting the bird sh@! response, I was about to get up and kick
her @$$!
