Details, and thanks!Posted by Wolf on July 29, 2001 at 23:32:41: In reply to: Re: Skin allergic reactions posted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on July 25, 2001 at 14:21:38: : If you were having a naptha-quinone sensitivity problem (henna: allergy), there would be a different progression of symptoms. Intense : itching within 3 hours of application, wheezing, tightness in chest, : hives. : : My hunch is that it's a reaction to the lemon juice. Sounds like you : have some skin that is very sensitive to the acid ... or has become : photosensitive with citrus. (Citrus oils can be phototoxins) How old : are you? Do you drive with your left arm out driver's side window? : Have you had sunburns on that arm (i.e. could the skin have been : damaged from UV)? : : Try mixing with just rainwater and see if that changes something. Thanks for the input, folks! This has been very helpful. To answer Catherine's questions: I'm 43, and do drive with my arms out the windows (well, not BOTH at once...), I have been sunburnt a few times over the years. I'm gonna try a different mix, see what happens. I think I'm going to be spending more time here..... I like the place.
