I've been lurking lately, had company in from out of town.

I've been experimenting on myself with several different terp tests,
mostly tea tree and lavendar oil, and frankincense. I feel like a
pseudo-scientist as well nowadays -- I made up this intricate multi-
columned chart so I can track different batches, their ingredients
and preparations, how long they were left on, to what area of the
body, wrap or no wrap, glitter goop, l/s, longevity, color at 24
hours after paste removal, color at 48 hours... it's pretty wacky but
it really helps me get a better idea of the results I'm getting when
it's all documented.

So far I have yet to get myself to the local hippie-granola market to
pick up more eo's. Money is an issue as well. I had to cut wayyyyy
back on the number of clients and programs I did this month (we had a
baby last month) so money is tight and not doing much mehndi on the
side makes it a little tighter. I still want to experiment with
Cajeput and Ravensara, but will have to be patient.

What have your results been? Mine are inconclusive to say the least.
I haven't had the nuclear results that others are speaking of, but I
have seen a *slight* darkening of color, quicker release of dye, and
quicker design demise. I may be too stingy with my Tea Tree in my
previous batches. I need to get the guts to dump a 1/2 tsp in a 1/2
oz jac bottle worth of paste, and so far I've been eeking out like 7
drops instead.

Frankincense definitely needs about 2 days to sit in the paste, if
refrigerated, to do the trick. After that, it's don't make a
mistake... that dye release is almost instantaneous!

Some of my t3 and frankincense designs are NOT fading quickly, those
on my feet that is. Damn, I can't get them to go away and frankly I'm
sick of looking at the same faded out arabian flower and leaves! :)

So how about you, how are your terp tests going?? Doing any side work
lately? My big bummer... my rock concert dates fell through... b/c I
was pregnant and didn't sign the contract last month to start
immediately (yeah and due at any moment, at an outdoor rock concert,
as if!) the spot ended up going to a *magician* (!!) instead.
sighs.... guess it wasn't meant to be. But I really couldve used that
money. Well, as CCJ's henna artist page says, plan on getting half
the projected money b/c "things go wrong".

Had one library program last week, have some clients scheduled for
tomorrow evening and another library program this week, plus one more
next week. Had fun mixing a big ole batch of henna last night that I
just super-sifted after curing. Having more fun mixin in the kitchen
than anything....
