The actual percentage of reactions is widely guessed at, I've heard numbers from 10% to 80%. It will be very hard to get an exact total, since many of these "tattoos" and their reactions are not reported except in extreme situations. The problem is NOT only the visible reaction/scarring. PPD is a *transdermal toxin*, and that is a *transdermal toxin* for *everyone*, not just those with nasty blistering reactions. That's really the hidden danger... people think that they are okay with it because they haven't blistered, but the PPD is absorbed into the bloodstream where it damages organs and causes long-term effects. Please make sure you read the PPD warnings before you continue using it. A reaction can happen at ANY time (which is why hair dye labels tell you to do a patch test before every application)and just because you have failed to have a reaction in the past doesn't mean you are safe in the future... not to mention the potential for damaging your liver and developing asthma.
