How old was your Jamilla?

I bought some Jamila from the Indian store a few weeks ago, mixed it
with tea tree and lemon, the whole bit. Applied it to mine and my
roommate's palms, and neither of us managed to get any stain. Okay,
I'm lying, I got a very, very faint yellow-orange that lasted for
half a day. We had both kept our henna on all night, too! I suspect
that my Jamila had been on the store shelf for several months because
I can't understand how the stain could have been so bad otherwise.
